Peter and the Wolf – Festival of Ideas 2011

A chamber orchestra of University students performed Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf and Saint-Saens’ Carnival of the Animals to nearly 500 primary school children, their parents and teachers. The story of Peter and the Wolf was conveyed by narrator and with live shadow-puppet illustrations from Cambridge alumnus Dan Strange, performed and projected from behind the stage, while the Carnival of the Animals had the audience attempting to guess which animal was being portrayed.

I loved the pictures. I want to be in a concert.”

The music was the best live music I’ve ever seen.”

Next time can you do more music? Thank you!”
