Choral Music in the Classroom

In addition to these regular activities, which happen in or around Cambridge, choirs and smaller groups of Cambridge singers have been involved in numerous choral collaborations with children’s choirs round the country.

If you are interested in discussing a choral collaboration with singers from Cambridge, please contact

An example of the kind of project we have offered in the past is Classroom Polyphony, a venture instigated through a collaboration with the national Sing Up! Programme.  For the past three years, Cambridge choral scholars, under the direction of one of the college Directors of Music, have visited schools in London and prepared a short programme of songs together.  This culminates in a lunchtime concert in one of the College chapels.

Other recent activities include …

  • Hereford Sixth Form College Choir performance of Bach B Minor Mass with Selwyn College Choir
  • Clare College Choir, with English Touring Opera: song-writing project for Dementia sufferers.
  • King’s College Choir choral scholars workshops at Chesterton Community College, Cambridge
  • Joint services with visiting choirs at Trinity College
