The Snowman: A Musical Storytelling with Narrator and Chamber Orchestra

snowman1

CaMEO is offering local schools and families the opportunity to attend a free musical treat, just in time for Christmas. Complete with visual projections (as seen by schools in the touring performance in 2010 and 2011), an in-character Narrator will tell the enchanting and timeless Christmas story The Snowman, based on Raymond Briggs’s iconic picture book, accompanied by the soundtrack of Howard Blake’s evocative music performed live by chamber orchestra and singer. The Snowman will be a semi-theatrical event guaranteed to conjure up the atmosphere of a wintry hearth-side, capture the imagination, and promises to get everyone in the mood for Christmas!

The performance will take place 1.30-2.30 pm at West Road Concert Hall on December 14th and will include the 25 minute piece plus time for the pupils attending to ask questions of the players and the conductor and maybe even have a go at singing or conducting themselves!

If you’d like to book a group onto this performance please contact Ruth on outreach@mus.cam.ac.uk with the number of students and accompanying adults attending and the ages of the group.
