Following on from the summer workshop, the 15 entrants (aged between 10 and 17) in the Cambridge Young Composer of the Year competition gathered for the competition final. They had the chance to hear a live performance of their work in the West Road Concert Hall, with composer Jeremy Thurlow leading the Cambridge University New Music Ensemble. Luke Fitzgerald, a student at Sawston Village College, was announced as the winner for his ‘vivid and exciting piece’.
