The Cambridge Music+ programme provides stimulating music sessions for Year 12 students who are interested in developing their knowledge of music beyond the A-level curriculum. In a series of six twilight extension classes delivered by experienced teachers and Cambridge academics, students will be encouraged to think beyond their current course of study, and will experience different perspectives on music – as science, culture, history and creative process. The sessions will run at two centres in Manchester and London, followed by a residential in March 2017 in Cambridge.
All sessions are completely FREE for participants, and associated travel costs will be reimbursed.
To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:
- Attend a state-maintained school in the UK
- Studying Music A-level or equivalent (for example IB) next year OR taking Grade 8 Music Theory
- Likely to apply to University after sixth-form
- A minimum of 5 A* and A grades at GCSE
- Able to attend all six sessions and the residential (provisional dates below)
You are welcome to apply regardless of where you live, however you must be able to travel to the sessions which take place in central London/Manchester which take place after school. You are able to claim travel expenses for your travel to the sessions.
Manchester sessions will take place on Wednesdays at Loreto Sixth Form College, 4.00 - 6.00pm, on the following dates:

London sessions will take place at Southbank Centre, 4.30 - 6.30pm, on the following dates:
Applications are now open for students commencing Year 12 in September 2016. The deadline for applications is FRIDAY 30th September. Places are limited and will be allocated to suitable candidates on a first-come first-served basis.
